Holiday Inn Express Selinsgrove University Area

Breakfast was delicious, with several choices including fresh fruit. My mother has dietary restrictions, and the staff were kind and knew what was in the different foods when we asked. The decor is lovely, and you can tell the staff care about the hotel. It was quiet, smelled fresh, and was SUPER clean. After our family’s history of booking pitiful hotels, this was absolutely not one of those. From the moment we walked in, the service was wonderful, and everyone was friendly and chatty. I’d recommend it to anyone traveling through the area.

We only stayed one night and got in very late, but the whole place impressed us. The rooms were meticulously clean, the beds were super comfortable, and each bed had two pillow choices, one labeled firm and one soft. They use Dove products in the bathrooms, too. Everyone was nice and friendly, and the breakfast was the best complimentary one I’ve had at a hotel. The older gentleman looking after it had a huge selection: pork or turkey sausage links, hot and cold cereal, fresh warm cinnamon buns, bagels, bread, muffins, and mini egg omelets with vegetables and cheese inside. The coffee machine grinds the beans when you select a coffee, so it’s fresh. My son’s favorite was the one-minute pancake maker. Press okay, watch the batter drop onto a conveyor belt, cook, then land on your plate. Ready to eat! The staff were accommodating from start to finish. I can’t recommend this place enough.

We stayed on 10/10/25 after an evening at Knoebels Amusement Park. Another chain nearby had a similar price, but we picked this hotel despite it being farther out of our way because its Google ratings were higher. Glad we did. We arrived late, and the front desk employee was friendly and professional, gave us the information we needed, and pointed out the cookies for guests. That was one of several thoughtful touches. Our room was clean, and housekeeping had folded some towels in a pretty way. We’ve had breakfast at plenty of other hotels, but this was the best. There was a big selection, the attendant kept the area clean and stocked, and the dining room was decorated for the season. Lots of businesses are cutting back wherever they can, so it was nice to see a place still caring about the little details that make a big difference. We had a really nice stay and would come back.

I spend most nights at IHG hotels, but left this one after a single night. The thermostats are locked, so you can’t keep the fan running constantly. The room gets uncomfortable, and there’s nothing you can do about it. I could hear the neighbors and road noise too. Maybe the owner is trying to save a few bucks, but I moved my business next door to the Quality Inn. Renovations are supposed to start in November, which could mean even more noise with no fan to drown it out. The thermostats are a new addition and are staying. I don’t recommend it.
