Susanne took us on sunrise tours of the Ocean beaches on both mornings, which was a highlight of our trip. We came to Maine for two nights between visits with friends and family, choosing Kennebunk a little farther north than our usual York area stop. White Sails Inn lived up to its high ratings. The rooms, service, and breakfasts were excellent, and because March is a quiet time of year, Susanne gave us some extra attention that felt special. We’ll return!

The multi-course breakfasts were what set White Sails apart. Suzanne makes them herself, and she’s quite the chef. Guests ate together at a large dining room table, and the conversations were hilarious. We had a memorable anniversary weekend here. The inn was inviting and immaculately decorated, and Suzanne was an absolute pleasure. She greeted us at check-in with a smile and fresh cookies. Our suite was spotless, with a very comfortable mattress. Book here, you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed in the Iron Age room, which was large, extremely clean, and really cozy. Suzanne was helpful, friendly, and accommodating, and her breakfast was great. We also enjoyed the fire pit and meeting the other guests. It was our first trip to Kennebunk, and White Sails Inn was such a delight. The whole experience was great, two thumbs up!

The peaceful setting worked perfectly for our planned day trips to coastal towns north and south. If you want to be amid the summer crowds and within walking distance of shops or a beach, this might not be the place for you. We stayed six nights in August and enjoyed it so much that we’re already planning to return. The hostess is amazing, a joy to listen to and a great listener too. We spent an evening chatting with her on the screened-in porch. She makes every creative, delicious, multi-course breakfast herself, and it’s clear she loves her work. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful furnishings and arrangement. Plans for further improvements always seem to be underway. The outdoor fire pit adds to the warm atmosphere, and no detail of the beautiful inn seems overlooked. A treasure!
