Quality Inn Selma

The woman who checked us in was so sweet, and that was the best part of the stay. We won’t be coming back. There was a huge gap beneath our door, and the paint looked like a rushed attempt to cover up the old place. The upstairs floor was uneven. Inside our tiny room, the bathroom was filthy and much more outdated than the rest. The shower was rough, and when I got out, the towel had a prickly bur on it. There was also a used towel hanging behind the door, an already-open bar of soap, a rusty, moldy ironing board, and stained sheets. The beds felt old and uncomfortable. The TV remote only changed channels, so we had to use the TV itself to turn it on or off and change the volume. The area seemed all right until night, when we heard what sounded like drag racing followed by sirens. In the early hours, it sounded like someone was trying their key card at every door. We barely slept. This place needs to be closed and redone properly.

Quiet hotel for the money, and the staff were courteous and helpful. The new owners took over a few months ago and are working hard on renovations and making it a comfortable place to get a quiet night's rest.

My husband was here for work, so I stayed five nights. It was quiet, and I felt comfortable. I brought my own sheets and cleaning supplies, which came in handy: the room needed a better clean. There was black splatter on the bathroom wall and by the main door, the floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped in a while, and the comforter had black spots and makeup on it. Mrs Audrey was superb and helpful, and the manager was also very nice and helpful, though I didn’t get her name. I didn’t have a vehicle during the day, so having Walgreens, Sonic, a dollar store, and a convenience store within walking distance was great. For a decent price, it was a good stay overall, and we’ll come back when my husband has work here again.

The staff were really professional and flexible when we had to switch rooms three times. We had a nice three-day stay in Selma, Alabama. My only letdown was that I couldn’t watch football because the channels had no service or weren’t available.
