Holiday Inn Express & Suites Senatobia I 55 by IHG

That night was the first time in almost three years that I felt at peace. I'd just left an abusive relationship, and the police drove me from 30 minutes away to the hotel with my two daughters, ages 6 and 7. The woman at the desk was so kind and told me I could come to her if I needed anything. I can't remember her name, but she was a white woman, around 5'5". The room was great, and my kids were delighted to be at a hotel. We spent a little time running in the workout room, which we really needed. The breakfast food was good, and the breakfast staff spoke with all of us. They saw my kids as kids having fun and making friends, not just hyper children at 7 a.m. A football team had arrived that night, and I guess the moms saw us getting out of the police car. They helped make the stay better too. The morning staff could smile more and use a kinder tone, but I've seen worse and could brush that off. I used to work at the Holiday Inn on Union Avenue in Memphis and tried to greet guests with the utmost respect. This was the first time I'd felt real kindness from strangers, and I'm forever grateful. Please be kind. You never know what someone is going through. It takes two seconds, while cruelty can cause a lifetime of pain. I'd stay here again.

I booked the Senatobia location for out-of-town guests coming to my wedding in Coldwater, MS, and Taylor, the assistant manager, was very rude to them and made check-in difficult. The disrespect had started when I was making the reservations, which should have been a warning. I tried to be understanding and give them grace anyway. Then Ashley and Taylor wouldn't give me the corporate phone number when I asked, as though Google and ChatGPT couldn't provide it. This kind of customer service is unacceptable, especially during such an important event. Paying guests shouldn't be treated this way.

Getting to and from the hotel was easy since it's right off 55. The room was quiet and clean, the elevators worked efficiently, and breakfast the next morning was excellent. A very nice place to stay.

I was in Senatobia, Mississippi for the first time in 16 years, attending my grandson's wedding. We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites.
