I wouldn’t feel comfortable staying here. I checked into the motel late at night and, within a minute of looking for bed bugs, found droppings in the sheets and a bug on the box spring. The front desk guy came up but seemed not to know what bed bugs were, and couldn’t understand why I didn’t want to sleep there. He kept saying he’d just cleaned the room with bleach, which he thought was enough. His friend also came to look and, fortunately, knew about bed bugs and agreed with me. I’m worried about the cleanliness and wanted to warn other people. I feel for the family running the place. I think they moved to the States recently and are still figuring the business out. They gave me a full refund and offered a stay the next day after cleaning the room. But they said they’d replace only the mattress, not the other furnishings, which can also harbor bed bugs and probably need attention. They also said they keep spare mattresses in a basement, which sounds a little sketchy. Hopefully things turn around here.

Once we got settled, the room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and had all the basics: TV, coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, and even a hair dryer. It felt especially homey downstairs, where there’s a vegetable garden near the main office. My sister booked the motel, and I was a bit worried when I arrived because my first impression wasn’t great. But the price was good and I had no complaints about the stay. Our booked room with two king beds had flooded, so they gave us two rooms with one king bed each for the same price. The family-run place had very professional customer service. We waited a few minutes in the lobby for the owner, and an elderly couple kindly offered us water. It’s a good simple, affordable place to stay.

The motel is close to restaurants and local attractions, and I found the room spotless, comfortable, and well looked after. Staff were quick, attentive, professional, and friendly whenever I needed help. I had a fantastic stay at the Great House Motel in Sequim and would recommend it to anyone visiting. A real hidden gem.

The room was filthy: a moldy bathroom that smelled like vomit, broken window glass, dusty floors, a soggy dirty pillow, and funky sheets. None of us could use the shower. When we checked out, a staff member was smoking weed by the front desk. At the door we’d found giant spider webs everywhere and a spider crawling on the wall, as shown in the photos. The manager sent two guys with a broomstick, while the owner called it “just a small crawly” and showed us how to squash it. This place had no hygiene or professionalism. A campground would have been much cleaner. Google shouldn’t recommend it. It completely spoiled the start of our family trip in Sequim.

Good for a business week or overnight stay, with basic cable and free Wi-Fi, though you can’t cast to the TV. The room had newer A/C and heater, a fridge, microwave, and five-cup coffee maker. It was a little dated but clean, nice, and welcoming. I was nervous at first, then pleasantly surprised by how nice the owner was and how good the room looked. My only complaint is that they had Splenda but no sugar. I guess that’s a luxury, and there’s a Chevron one block away. The owner said they’re doing a complete renovation by next year. I wish them the best!
