The elevator had a failed inspection notice, but wasn’t taped off, so I assumed it was okay and rode it once. It felt like it might break, so I took the stairs to the third floor despite my disability. Luckily there was no snow. Breakfast was cold cereal, waffles, bagel or toast, two juice choices, and decent coffee, though there was no creamer. We had a good stay for a good price. The beds were comfy, the room was clean and spacious, and I liked the layout. It had dish satellite and good movie choices. It was quiet, with no one yelling outside our door or downstairs. I might stay here again if I can get a good price.
The housekeeping supervisor was rude, aggressive, and unpleasant. She asked us to leave while the room was being cleaned, and we did. It was extremely cold outside, so we asked the housekeeper if we could come back in and sit in a corner. She kindly agreed, but when the supervisor arrived, she scolded us for coming in and reprimanded the housekeeper for letting us. The housekeeper said we were human beings. The supervisor replied that she didn’t care. On the second day, the toilet clogged and overflowed. I asked the front desk to repair it and clean the water that had spread through the bathroom and part of the room. They fixed the toilet but didn’t clean up the affected area. The room is supposed to be cleaned every three days. We stayed from Friday 02/13, and it wasn’t cleaned until our last night, yesterday. My first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which I’m allergic to, so I requested a different one and they provided it. Rooms should be checked for those odors before guests are assigned to them. It’s disappointing for a prestigious hotel to employ someone with that attitude. I’ve had better experiences here before, but I’m very disappointed now and have warned others.
I’ve stayed at this motel about five times in the past three months, and each visit has been different. This time, the woman showed me a photo of a burn from an iron on the sheet and kept my deposit. I told her I don’t even own an iron and she could check my bags. Then I realized they’d taken the iron from the closet and matched its burn to the sheet on the bed I hadn’t even slept in. They messed up the bed I didn’t use to make the burn line up. I nearly lost my mind. Watch out, this is one of their scams. Never again, I’d rather sleep in my car!
We’re out $560 for a room we refused to stay in because it was disgusting. The front desk was a nightmare, and they charged us multiple times. They agreed to a refund, then charged us twice more. We’re still trying to dispute it with the company, the bank, and Wyndham!
The room and bathroom were filthy. Water was trapped under the bathtub material, so it sloshed underfoot while showering. Clogged drains backed up, water seeped under the floorboards, and mold filled the crevices, especially around the floor edges and behind the toilet. The whole bathroom smelled of mildew and neglect. The mattress was stained, the sheets and towels had yellowish marks, and only one lightbulb worked. It was freezing inside, so we had to keep the heater running nonstop. After reading other reviews about bedbugs and similar problems, this place really seemed like an infestation risk. We had service animals with proper documentation, but the staff refused to return our deposit at checkout. First they claimed there was pee on the bed, which there wasn’t, then blamed our animals even though they had no accidents. Half the time no one was at the front desk, so we had to set up breakfast ourselves. The lobby staff were rude and made up excuses about how it would “take hours to clean” after us, just to keep the money. It felt like a scam from start to finish. From the disrespectful treatment we got in person and on the phone to the state of the room, this was an absolute disaster at La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Colorado Springs Garden of the Gods. It needs condemnation. Avoid this dump, Colorado Springs has better options. Shut it down! 🧪Chef Crow👨🏽🍳🐦⬛🇺🇸 (@Chefepreneur) - Aurora, CO They clearly pay for good reviews.
