The cabin itself was lovely and peaceful, and we had a great weekend there. I did want to let you know that we found small and medium roaches in the kitchen drawers and upstairs bedroom. The living room rug was covered in pet hair, too, and I couldn't find a vacuum when I went to clean it. As an owner, I’d want to hear about this. Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin.

I’ve been coming to the Alpine Log Cabin every year for nearly ten years, and this summer I’m enjoying my second week here. Forrest and Carole are attentive to what guests need, and Carole’s paintings capture the mountain scenery in such an imaginative way. The cabin feels warm and welcoming. I love watching the sunrise over the distant ranges from the outdoor seating area, or finding shade on the covered back deck in the afternoon. It’s also well placed for hiking in Pisgah, climbing at Grandfather Mountain State Park, fishing in the Watauga River, and tubing The New. It’s about as close to paradise as a vacationer could hope for. I can’t praise the cabin or its owners enough.

We saw deer wandering around behind the cabin every day, and it was so quiet I could hear my tenitous. The best part was the east-facing back deck in the morning, with coffee and a blanket. Look to the right for a great view of Grandfather Mt.
