The roaches were the last straw. One joined me while I was washing my face, and another fell to the floor and crawled behind me. The manager on duty said roaches were normal. When I said I didn’t live with them and didn’t want to bring any home, I got a refund for one night. The bedding was awful too. The comforters were stained, ripped, and burned, and the sheets looked tea-stained. I got a replacement comforter from laundry, but it was no better. There was a mattress cover, though the condition of the bedding made me wonder whether the mattress was worth covering. I also found what looked like mud on the white sheet across my face when I woke up in the new room. I had to change rooms at about 1 AM because the air conditioner fan sounded like an alarm. The internet was weak, and the only sink was leaking into a can. I also wonder why it’s a non-smoking facility when things are burned anyway. The listing made this place look appealing, but you find out what it’s really like after you arrive.

As her direct employer, I called to ask whether I could book the room for her, and was told she still wouldn’t be allowed to check in. She had to wait 7-10 days to get her money back. She was 20, worked at a nuclear power plant, and had booked and paid for the room online, including the pet fee. She drove for hours on a Sunday with her dog so she could check in on time and get enough rest to be fit for duty at the local dominion nuclear plant. Only when she arrived did they tell her she couldn’t check in because she was 20. That age restriction hadn’t been disclosed before booking, even though the booking required her date of birth. This 10 year old with safeguards and control room access couldn’t use the hotel room she’d paid for. Buyer beware!!!

Housekeeping came into my room while I’d just lain down to sleep and stood there until I lifted my head and looked at them. The front desk lady then called to say they hadn’t finished cleaning my room. I told her the bed was made, the room was clean, and I was going back to sleep. Only the rooms had air conditioning. The rest of the place was hot.

I felt safe, and the other guests were quiet. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and the location just off the main road worked well. The hotel wasn’t crowded, and it looked like renovations were underway, with many rooms open and some filled with old furniture. Breakfast was okay, though I was the first one down and it wasn’t great. I liked the room layout, but the TV didn’t work and there was no shampoo or conditioner. The elevator was sticky and gross. They required a $100 cash deposit, which was returned at checkout. It was fine overall.
