SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Sevierville

The hotel looked presentable, but when we arrived someone was smoking marijuana beside the building. I have no issue with people's choices, but the smell causes me allergic reactions, nausea, and severe headaches. After a long drive, we just wanted to enjoy the surprise birthday trip with our daughter. We requested a room on the top floor hoping to avoid fumes, but the smell hit us from the elevator up to the third floor and filled the hallway like someone was smoking in the non-smoking area. We told the staff member before dinner and asked if he could do anything. He said he'd text the manager. If we checked out, they could only refund the next day, and he wasn't sure about a full refund. The room looked okay except the soap dispenser was empty and one comforter on the double beds had old blood stains. After dinner the odor was even worse, clinging to our clothes, and we couldn't stay the weekend in those conditions. We had to find another place quickly, adding unexpected travel and costs. It was extremely stressful and nearly ruined our trip. Room 317.

The front desk woman was very kind, and I appreciate that. The room itself was disappointing. The mattress protector had blood on it, there was a lunchbox with someone's pills inside, and all the surfaces were sticky and gross, so we had to clean them. The floor looked like someone had been sick, and the sheets had black smudges everywhere. We changed our own sheets. No one offered another room, just told us to clean it ourselves.

The location was convenient, with a Kroger right beside the hotel, and the property was clean and nice. My king room was small but clean, with a fridge and microwave. The staff were all very nice. Breakfast was a letdown: the waffles were okay, but the sausage and eggs didn't look cooked through, only unpleasant yogurt flavors were left, and there were no bagels. Around 11:30, some drunk adults were making a scene in the hallway. I also couldn't get the fan or air to turn on or lower the temperature, and I sleep better in a chilly room. Those were my only issues, and I don't blame the hotel for the drunk guests. I've paid a lot more for much worse places, and I'd stay again.

The rooms, bathrooms, and hallways were very clean, and the halls were free of clutter. Staff were friendly, the heat and air worked well, and there was an ice machine. Breakfast was free and the food was good, plus coffee was available around the clock. There’s a coffee maker in the room, too. Lots of stores are an easy walk away, though there aren’t any vending machines for drinks or snacks.
