Valley Inn Shakopee

The owner was friendly and accommodating, even printing a couple of things for me, and we’d stay again. Our room was clean, with comfortable beds and protective covers on the mattresses. It was older and smelled a little musty. There was a fridge but no coffee maker, and nowhere to make the tea they had. Coffee was good and available until the office locked. Breakfast was pretty minimal, just wrapped pastries, toast, and a couple of juice drinks. There weren’t any microwaves.

We got to the room around 11 p.m. and found the TV wasn’t working. I called the front desk, got instructions to try the channels in the 800s, but it still didn’t work. They didn’t offer to come check it, and it wasn’t working until an hour before we left. No apology or discount, either. The room itself was good and didn’t smell of smoke like the hallways did. The train around 5 woke us up.

The owner was really friendly, and the staff were amazing. I loved my time here, with great rooms and a great location. Loved, loved, loved the stay. 10 out of 5.

The room was clean, with good shower pressure, and the soft water was a nice extra, though I’m not sure if they soften it or if it’s naturally that way. Check-in was easy and the staff were pleasant. The room was small but worked for one night, and the bed was comfortable. I slept well until a train came through blowing its horn at 5:30 a.m.
