The grounds have room for hiking trails from easy to difficult, football or frisbee on the grass, and a creek crossing over an old, rickety but reliable bridge that looks straight out of a movie. We were well fed thanks to the huge kitchen, and the women in our group kept making food. There’s an impressive range of shared amenities, including a weight gym, semi-Olympic-sized temperature-controlled pool, hot tub, steam room, tennis court, yoga room, fire pit, cocktail bar station, pool and ping-pong tables, board games, a spacious dining room, comfortable living room, and a large furnished patio. Some rooms even have mid-room fire pits and dry saunas. The TVs are up-to-date and the mattresses are great. The 33-acre property is now known as a renowned Airbnb. The house was built in 1921 by Richard Copperhood, with 27 bedrooms and 36 bathrooms, and later became a luxurious inn for travelers. As business declined and staffing grew harder, it was listed as an Airbnb in 2010. A legendary stay!

We came mainly to hike, and the cozy, warm lounge with its lovely decor was a welcome place to unwind. I especially liked the terrace next to our room, with a walking area all around and a great view. The spa area has a jacuzzi, sauna, and swimming pool. The place has a unique way of lifting the winter gloom I associate with the Hudson Valley, though I find the area itself highly overrated. I’d recommend the hotel if you’re prepared for that feeling. Prices are definitely on the high side.

This serene, family-run SPA was just what I needed: a country-house feel rather than somewhere fancy, and a chance to disconnect and get a mental and physical detox. The food was great, with plenty of hiking nearby. The therapists are very good, so you can get a quality massage or facial. A perfect place to relax.

Everything was clean, and the view was gorgeous. Kieran and Nina were welcoming and friendly. After skiing, the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi helped us relax, and Belleayre is 10 minutes away. There’s also a piano, pool, and jigsaw puzzles for time with friends. We didn’t get to hike this visit, but the trails are right behind the property. Kieran recommended the Pines and the Phoenician steakhouse, and we loved them!

We held a four-day event here in late May for about 50 people, and it was spectacular. The grounds, guest rooms, shared spaces, and spa facilities all exceeded what we expected. Steve was exceptionally accommodating and helpful.
