La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cincinnati Sharonville

The location is handy, right off the highway, and the desk staff were friendly. We were only there for one night, not even a full 24 hours, and the room was decent, though I've seen worse. Dogs are allowed, which is always a plus for our family of two dogs. I think the fee was $25-50 each. My daughter wanted to use the pool and gym, but the front office said both were closed when she called. I checked the posted hours myself and they were open, so I don't understand that. On the third floor, our beds were really uncomfortable, the blanket over the sheets was stained, and the bathroom had hair all over the tub and floor. My father-in-law told them he'd gotten blood on a small towel, and they still charged him $10 for it. At least he was honest and told them. My stay was okay, though those things could have made it a five-star stay. Maybe a longer visit would have been fine. Thanks.

Of the four La Quinta's we've stayed at this past month, this one had the best breakfast. Shawna made homemade biscuits and gravy, and you could tell she put care into it. The room itself was OK. Great job, Shawna.

We arrived around 6pm, and the room was a mess. The hallway floor was filthy, and inside there was a nauseating incense smell, the bedroom TV was blaring, most lights were on, stains on the couches and counters, tape on the walls, and food on the floor. It looked as if someone began cleaning and didn't finish. There were dirty socks on the sofa bed and Cheetos by the couch, so we didn't use that room. The next morning I found something that looked like a Tums or candy. One side said Epic and the other said Chill. I thought it was drugs, either Molly or Fentanyl. I brought it downstairs and explained everything to the clerk, who only said, "I will let housekeeping know." No apology or anything. My son was supposed to sleep on that sofa bed, and half our family had to cancel at the last minute. The pool wasn't heated, so it was pointless to have one in Ohio, and both treadmills in the workout room were out of order. I usually look for Wyndham hotels when I travel, but I've never been this disappointed at one. My son and I checked in at about 6pm, and the hallway dirt was something we initially tried to overlook.

For a last-minute, late-night place that takes pets, the price was very reasonable. My room was huge, with a big living room and kitchenette, a spacious bedroom with a foyer-like area off it, and a small bathroom. I was grossed out by other people's hair in the tub and on the washcloths, though. And if people can smoke weed in their rooms, I feel like I should be able to smoke cigarettes in mine.
