The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were so warm and friendly. They greeted the overnight guests like family, though they seemed to know many as regulars. After eating, I went for a quick swim, used the sauna, and then headed out for a hike. It was just the reset I needed. This was my first visit to Race Brook Lodge, and it was such a charming stay. I arrived in the evening and took a path down to my spot, a sweet, rustic little cottage room. The bed was huge and inviting, and there was a separate nook with another sleeper. No TV, just evening sounds outside. It was a bit chilly, but heaters were ready to use. I slept really well. I'd come back for sure.

A really charming place, full of character. We had a great time with our kids and extended family, and the food was excellent. The location was scenic and relaxing. Even the tap water was amazing, ice cold and tasty. It was neat to have mountain spring water right in our room, and I filled our bottles before we left.

We brought our extended family of 10, ages 18 to ??, for a trip to the race brook mountain house. The secluded setting was a favorite, with lovely mountain views from the main living area and second floor. There's room to spend time together or find some privacy, and the house is decorated with a lot of care and personal touches. It's about half a mile up a winding road above the main facilities at race brook lodge. The kids could hike right from the house, and we drove down to the main lodge to enjoy the pool. Management was quick to respond by text whenever we needed anything.

Dinner was delicious, and brunch was great too. The staff were friendly, and the building is gorgeous and unusual. It may be the oldest place I've ever slept in. I kept expecting George Washington to come around the corner. I spent a very enjoyable evening at Race Brook Lodge, and can't wait to return and see more of the property. If you like great food and authentic New England charm, you should visit.

The place felt like magic. We arrived without many expectations and were enchanted the whole time. Between the rolling lawns, several hammock spots, fire pits, pool, and sweet family events, it was an easy, lovely trip with my kids, probably the most enjoyable one I've taken with them.
