The kids are grown now, but if they’re home for the holidays we still try to get a ski day in at Byrncliff. When they were little, we’d spend weekends skiing, then warm up in the lodge while our gloves dried by the fire. We brought plenty of snacks and games, and those days became some of our favorite family memories. We all learned to skate ski there, even how to race, and have kept building those skills over the years. A visit can make winter feel like something to look forward to. The trails winding through the wooded hills beside the lodge are beautifully groomed, and the owners and staff are so welcoming. They remember you, and there are always good après-ski food and drinks upstairs in the restaurant and bar, with rosy-cheeked skiers all around. There’s lots to do: classic skiing in set tracks, skate skiing on groomed corduroy, snowshoeing, sledding, or just hanging out by the fire pit. You can rent most of what you need, bring your own gear, or make a little vacation of it by staying in one of the rental places. It’s only about a 10-minute drive from East Aurora, and the prices, including the season pass, are genuinely reasonable. You can also ski the trails at night when they’re lit. Byrncliff has become part of our winter life, and we’re grateful for this lovely place and the family and staff who’ve kept its tradition going. See you next season!

The skis were ready and laid out alphabetically when our group arrived, so getting 100 college students checked in was easy. Bryncliff had also moved us into a larger room, where hot chocolate and soup were waiting. The students loved it. We’d had unexpected travel delays, and the staff adjusted our reservation time and stayed open past closing so everyone could have the full outing. They were organized, flexible, and great to work with from the start. A fantastic choice for a group cross-country ski trip or event. I’d happily recommend them.

We’d only planned to get a room for a couple of hours, after the snow and wind got so bad that my wife and I no longer felt safe driving. Byrncliff was nearby, and when we called the office they arranged a room right away. We weren’t expecting much service in the middle of a huge storm, but Tom was looking after other stranded groups too. One was waiting for a tow after a car accident, and another needed a rental car to get their child to a nearby hospital for Leukemia treatment. It felt like something out of a Hallmark movie. Tom reopened the kitchen to make food, had coffee ready, and stayed to make sure everyone was comfortable and had what they needed for the night. After the day we’d had, that meant everything. I don’t usually write reviews, but wanted to say how much we appreciated the staff and the facility. I’m a golfer, so I’ll be back once the snow clears. Thanks again, everyone.

We usually avoid going out because we tend to come away disappointed, but Byrncliff was different. The food was great, the waiter was lovely, and the drink prices were good. It felt like a home-cooked meal without us having to do the work. We’ll be back.

The buffet was delicious, and we especially liked the fresh fruit, salad bar, lemon water, and gluten-free desserts. Our server, Mikhai, was helpful with drinks and anything else we needed, and even took a photo of all 12 of us. We had plenty of space between tables and didn’t feel crowded. We were seated right on time in a room with windows overlooking the property for Easter brunch. Thanks to Mikhai and the hostesses, wait staff, kitchen team, and everyone else who made it such an enjoyable day for our family.
