The location was quiet and away from the inner city, but for what they charge I wouldn’t stay here again. The breakfast was just plastic-wrapped Corner Store muffins and self-serve Cumberland Farms-style coffee machines, so I didn’t even try it. I also found the marijuana smell in the hallway at check-in pretty strong. People seemed to be smoking there. The bed was the biggest problem. Its cheap steel frame with springs creaked and popped whenever we moved, and it slid around instead of staying against the headboard, which was attached to the wall. I kept pushing it back into place. There was no box spring or stable platform frame. The cheap, flat pillows didn’t help either. We had three between us, so one of us got two while the other had one that gave no support and left my neck sore. The bed made intimacy impossible. The room wasn’t impressive for the price, although my wife and I did find a Priceline deal for under a hundred dollars a night. This was an average hotel at best, and we’ve had better bedding at a much cheaper place in Milford. The Residence Inn up the street was a far better stay, with more amenities, a real breakfast, and better bedding. The organization that owns this place should be ashamed to put America in its name while offering such poor amenities.

I booked here because the listing promised free breakfast, but there wasn’t any. People were hanging around outside making noise, and the place gave the impression that some were living there. Between the noise from nearby rooms, banging overhead, and a very uncomfortable bed, I got no sleep. I woke up with a stiff neck, sore shoulders, and a headache. The shower was dirty, with mildew on the tiles. A really bad stay.

Getting around from this hotel was easy, and I liked having a kitchen in the room. They could provide extra kitchen equipment when I asked, which made things more convenient. The room was comfortable overall, though it could get a bit noisy sometimes. The staff were welcoming and very friendly.

I’ve been here for four months, and I still don’t have a TV in my one-bedroom suite. On check-in, I was told there wasn’t one in the room yet but that it had already been ordered. There should be two TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the full-size living room with the pullout couch. When one still hadn’t arrived after two months, Mimi tried to move me into a single room without a living room for the same price. I said I’d wait another week. It’s now been over a month since I first started asking, and I still have no TV. Mimi, the manager, is extremely rude. The other staff are somewhat personable, but she cuts me off, starts yelling as soon as I ask a question, and ignores requests she doesn’t want to deal with. When I asked her to come speak to me at the front desk about how she was behaving, she refused and yelled from her back office instead. She stayed at her computer and ignored me. It’s unfortunate that they treat long-term guests this way.
