Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Louisville South, KY

This place is old, dated, dingy, overpriced, and the rooms are uncomfortable. The snack and soda machines only take cash, and getting change from the desk seems to be too much trouble for the workers. Breakfast starts whenever they get around to putting a few things out. The staff act as if the food comes out of their own pay. Powdered eggs, Grade D meat, and waffles that taste like dirty socks dipped in high-fructose corn syrup. It’s BAD. They should probably stop serving breakfast. If I owned this hotel, I’d sell it or close it and find another business. This clearly isn’t their calling. Why bother if you don’t care?

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the place was a quiet spot in an otherwise crowded metropolis. The accommodations were large and wonderful, and more hotels should offer a jetted tub.

Staff refused to refund me and offered only a downgrade, without returning the price difference, even though I asked within two hours of checking in because the room was completely uninhabitable. It reeked of cat urine, had visible mold, and immediately made it hard for me to breathe. Even worse, staff used another guest’s credit card information as scrap paper and handed it out. That’s a shocking privacy and security violation. Absolutely unacceptable conditions and practices. Don’t stay here.

This is almost exactly halfway for our trips between NY and Alabama, with easy access off the interstate, so it works perfectly for us. We stay here every time and have never had a bad experience. The staff are always courteous and professional, and the rooms are clean and well appointed. We usually eat breakfast at the Classic 50’s style Denny’s down the road, so we can’t speak to the hotel breakfast.
