Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Sherman Highway 75 by IHG

We checked out on May 2 after staying from May 1, and later realized a family member had left an iPad behind. That's on us. We called the next day, but nobody got back to us to say whether it had been found. On another call, we were told the manager was away and they couldn't check the room until he returned. When I called again on May 5, they said they couldn't access the logbook or tell us who had checked the room. The iPad still hasn't been turned on, and whoever has it seems to know how to deal with stolen electronics. Manager Travis has been unhelpful and came across as unconcerned. It was our mistake to leave it, but some customer service or empathy would have helped.

I had to kill a large brown cockroach in the bathroom, which says enough about this awful stay. The place was also ridiculously overpriced. The furniture was worn and stained, with chips in the wooden pieces, and the fridge wobbled. Bathroom caulk looked amateurish, the curtains were damaged and stained, and the towel bar was buckling and cracked. There was also a vent above the toilet that badly needed cleaning. Easily the most disgusting hotel experience I've had.

People were friendly, and the place is right behind Braum's. The TVs seem to be about 12 years old, though, so bring something to connect if you care about watching TV.

The indoor pool had been drained, and getting around was difficult because of road construction and the distance from anywhere to eat. We stay at IHG properties almost exclusively, and this was one of the worst we've visited. It's old and not maintained well. The bed was hard, and it smelled as if the sheets hadn't been changed in a while. This place needs to be rebuilt.
