Best Western Shippensburg Hotel

The lobby is bright, and there's a big breakfast room. Our room was clean, modern, and had no issues; the HVAC was easy to adjust and worked well. The staff said the hotel had been freshly redone in 2025. Good value, and getting off I-81 was easy.

Penny at breakfast was such a pleasant person to see on the road. She kept the tables and counters spotless, which isn't always the case in hotel dining areas, and was happy to chat. The room looked modern after its recent remodel, and the staff were polite. We found it clean and reasonably priced, though a little off the turnpike, by the college. We were headed to Pittsburgh and too tired to drive all the way, and since there's not much between Harrisburg and Bedford, we tried this Best Western because we knew Shippensburg had a college. We were glad we did and would stay again on a future trip, maybe to explore the area more.

The pool and hot tub were really clean, and the lobby didn't smell sweaty. I was there for three days, and everything stayed nice and clean. The staff were courteous and helpful, and compared with the Best Westerns in my hometown, this one was top notch. A very nice, friendly little motel. I see some harsh comments in the reviews, but some people just can't be pleased.

The bathroom light never worked, and several room lights were either out or flickering. Nobody brought fresh towels during my three days, and housekeeping never came by. The service was the worst I've ever had: on check-in day, they called to say my room wouldn't be ready. I called other local hotels to check availability, then rang back to cancel, and suddenly the room was ready after all. I contacted customer service, spent a month going back and forth, and got offered a laughable $25 voucher.
