Everyone we met was extremely pleasant, and they did move us to another room. The cleanliness there was night and day compared with the first room, where the tub had a ring, the carpet was filthy, there was head sweat on the bed's headboard, and a cockroach came out from behind the coffee maker. It's an older property, and staffing may be an issue. The location is great if you just need somewhere cool to sleep after the casino, and you don't need to leave the property. The rooms are large, ours had a nice view, and my dogs liked it. Bring flip flops for the carpet.
Lania, the nice young woman at the sportsman's cafe, was the only good part of our stay. The food was horrible, and the room wasn't very nice or supplied with toiletries. There wasn't even a washcloth. Our players card was messed up, and the packed lobby smelled of marijuana and alcohol. Our getaway night turned into a night when we should've stayed home. First stay, and last.
We had a great time celebrating my husband's birthday, and we'd love to return. The check-in staff were amazing and surprised us with room 1737, a huge room at the end of the hall with incredible views. We even watched fireworks the first night, which made it feel extra special. The waitresses and bartenders were friendly, attentive, and fun. Just be aware that a specific liquor can cost about $12 a shot. The hotel is older, and the casino on the third floor was very quiet, almost a ghost town, but that didn't take away from our stay. Five out of five stars.
The lobby at Bally's was full of people who'd booked rooms and found none available. We drove to four other pet-friendly hotels nearby, but none had a room either. Everything was booked, both where we went and where we called, so we missed the concert I'd bought $300 tickets for as a Christmas gift to my husband. I had reserved through a third party on 1-23-26 for a 1-31-26 stay because Bally's is pet friendly. Check-in was at 4pm; we got there around 5:50pm. The staff member said he couldn't find my reservation, and honestly I don't think he even tried. I said I'd sort it out later and offered to pay for a room, but then he said they were severely overbooked, had no rooms, and were still trying to get housekeeping to prepare rooms at 5:50pm. When I called customer service later, the only proposed solution was to book directly through Bally's next time because third-party bookers give them a hard time. There was no offer of another night's room or reimbursement for the concert tickets, just a scripted apology and advice to call directly next time. Problem solved? Not at all. One star only because zero wasn't an option.
We went to the club inside, where the crowd was mixed and the DJ stood on business. Entry was free. There’s also a small eatery serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner until 1:00 am. We had dinner at the Vintage Steakhouse. It was good, though everything is a la carte since it's fine dining, and you can dress casually. Edin was a phenomenal, attentive server. My husband chose the ribeye, which wasn't as tender; previous reviews had warned it might not be the best choice, but he's from the show me state. Reservations are accepted but not required. The room was very clean and spacious, and key cards are needed to reach the room floors for safety because so much of the property is open to the public. Bally's Shreveport is nice throughout. The parking garage is directly across the street, and valet is available.
