Hampton Inn Shreveport Airport

The airport is nearby, which makes the location convenient. Renovation work is underway, though, and the room you get makes a big difference. Mine was an older one, very dated and not well maintained, and some things didn't work properly. When I complained, they offered me one of the newly renovated rooms, which I'm sure would have been much better. Unless you can get a renovated room, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and I had no other complaints. Breakfast could be better. The rooms and bathroom were clean, the beds were comfortable, and my friend, who's obsessed with towels, had plenty. There was a stubborn stain on the bottom of the tub. I couldn't tell if it was dirt or from constant use. One odd thing: when we came back, my bed had been made but my friend's hadn't. I can only guess they left it because her luggage was on it and they didn't want to move it. I'd been hesitant after reading reviews about this Hampton, but I wasn't really disappointed once I stayed.

After driving for hours, I had to spend another 30 to 40 minutes sorting out a double charge for a room that was already paid through a third-party site. On Monday, September 22nd, the front desk employee charged me for the room when I was trying to pay the deposit. Instead of explaining that she didn't know how to receive the third-party funds, she said she needed a card on file with a $25 hold. I later saw the room charge on my account again. When I went back, she seemed not to care and dismissed me as if nothing could be done. If she'd explained what was happening on her end, I could have offered another solution before my card was charged twice. Very unprofessional. The room was musty too, with housekeeping having left the heat at 74 degrees in 90-degree Southern heat. I don't recommend this location.

The hotel and staff are fantastic. Jessica deserves special credit for fixing the credit card problem with Expedia that had me paying twice. Call the hotel directly and go around Kayak or Expedia to save $30.
