Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport

The one reason I gave two stars is that the room was newly renovated and nice, and the cleaning staff were kind and compassionate. After I posted this, I got an apology email, but I still don't know what compensation was provided. We were in Shreveport for an unexpected funeral. I called the hotel and the reservation number three times to confirm the pool was heated for my nephew, who had just lost his grandmother in a tragic accident. Each time I was told not to worry, that it was heated. It wasn't. The water was like ice and nobody could swim. The front desk and manager didn't seem to care. The small bar and grill couldn't make almost anything on the menu because they said they lacked ingredients, so we had to order DoorDash. The bartender was extremely nice. Breakfast was $17.99 per person for powdered eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, cereal, and fruit, and was less than a free continental breakfast. We left and ate at Waffle House. We spent almost $300 for one night, booking the room just to give a very sad child a little fun at the pool. Shame on you.

It's a great spot, not far from the airport. But I found two problems too late, after settling in and showering, when it was too late to switch rooms. The power connection at the work desk didn't work, even after I tried different outlets. And the chain for raising and lowering the blackout shade was detached and lying on the floor, so I couldn't darken the room. Those issues made it hard to work or sleep in a dark room.

There was an issue with another person's name on my reservation at check-in, but they fixed it that night once I noticed. The staff were great, and I had no trouble staying there or getting around. The surrounding area looked shady, so I judged it too quickly and too harshly. Nice hotel. I'd definitely stay again.

The rooms are clean and nice after the renovation. Rosannda and Russia at the front were amazing, and Mr. Larry made sure I had hot water in my room. I'll definitely recommend Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport to family and friends.
