Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Sidney, NE

We arrived and found the property looking vacant, with truckers using the parking lot and dangerous-building signs on the attached restaurant. We have pictures of those signs. After waiting, the friendly general manager came over, and we told her we would not stay. She said she couldn't issue a refund herself, so we called Expedia. Their representative wouldn't listen to us or speak to the hotel on our phone, and the hotel couldn't be reached because its phones had been run over. We'd tried contacting the property from the moment we booked through Expedia after seeing reviews about the pool not working, but got no response. We also tried reaching it directly and still can't get through, even though the phones are supposedly running. We drove there as Expedia advised, but received no refund through no fault of our own. We have an autistic son who is known to elope, and this felt unsafe for him. Nobody has helped us sort it out. Save yourself the trouble.

Trish is the best, and the staff treat you fairly, especially if you have pets. The pool works, too. It's very affordable, and I recommend it over the other hotels in Sidney, including the Best Western. I've stayed here more than three out of the five times I've passed through, and now that I've found it, this is the only place I choose.

We almost thought the place was abandoned because there was barely any traffic or anyone around. Walking in changed that impression fast: the lobby and breakfast area were beautiful, and the staff were so friendly. Our room was clean and spacious, and I can't think of anything negative about the stay. It’s handy for truck drivers, too, right by the Loves truck stop, less than a two-minute walk. I'll save it on my maps for future trips through Nebraska.

The staff were so friendly again, and they're glad to help with anything. We stopped at Country Inn and Suites on our way home after a 15hr road trip, and I'd recommend it for a long stay too if you want a happy environment. Breakfast was a real spread: biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal, warm and regular, bagels, Danish, toast, and waffles the kids can make themselves. Get to know the staff, they're more than happy to help. 😉
