Hampton Inn Sidney NE

We had a room looking out over a pond, which was a nice surprise. The hotel is being remodeled, with fresh wallpaper and flooring, and the bathrooms are roomy. It's easy to find off the highway, but far enough away that it's quiet and not busy. There's a pool and spa, though the spa was closed for maintenance. Lots of parking, and plenty of seats for breakfast.

The hotel is tucked behind a gas station and another building, and the big sign out front wasn't lit. Worth fixing so people can find the place and meet the friendly staff inside. The lobby is roomy, clean, and simple, with a little shop beside it. Staff know their stuff and promote nearby businesses to keep good relations. My room was straightforward, with the temperature just right and everything in place. Clean, crisp beds and warm lighting made it feel homey. The bathroom was set up well, with about three of everything, including towels, washcloths, and a floor towel. Plenty of hot water for a relaxing bath, and no pipes creaking. I didn't see a Holy Bible in the drawer, but otherwise I had a positive stay. Thanks for the service.

Finding the hotel took a couple of tries because there was no street sign for "Cabela Way" and it's off the main road. The renovation was underway, and while I had asked for a first-floor room, we got the second floor. To be fair, much of the first floor was being worked on. Our room was new, spotless, and nice, with beds and pillows as soft and comfortable as clouds. The bathroom was just as clean. Breakfast was fresh, hot, and tasty, with cheese omelets and Canadian bacon today. Check-in and checkout were both quick and friendly. Definitely a good overnight stop in Sidney.

Bobbi Jo was the night clerk both times we've stayed here, a couple of years apart, and she's lovely and welcoming. Breakfast is great, and the location right off the Interstate is handy. The hotel and rooms were clean, and the renovation didn't affect our stay. We were also impressed overhearing the owner talk with staff about her pride in the place and her plans to invest in keeping it a quality establishment. We'll stay here again on our next cross-country trip.
