Vista Hermosa Third Floor - Elevator

The bedroom windows were pressure-washed by a company early one morning, waking us up and soaking the clothes I had drying on the patio. That was the last straw after an already frustrating stay. We first had to switch rooms because the Airbnb unit's AC was broken, then move our luggage back the next day. We understood that could happen. In the room we had originally booked, a towel hanger was broken, so we told the owner to make sure we wouldn't be blamed. It had been fixed while we were out, but nobody told us anyone would be coming in while our clothes, personal items, and jewelry were there. Let us know before someone comes over. This is just bad management!

As a real estate developer from Michigan, I see this as a hidden gem and think I made a great investment by sitting and waiting. Most Siesta Key complexes I looked at had two issues: high density and not enough parking. Here, there's open space and so much overflow parking that I'm shocked. The villas all have direct entry, so you can pull up to your front door without dealing with a common area, waiting for an elevator, or using a grocery cart. From what I can tell, the numbers might work to raze the villas and rebuild at much higher density while still meeting parking requirements. They take up a lot of land, and in many areas they're built on only one side of the road. As a builder, you'd usually build on both sides because infrastructure costs are very expensive.

We arrived to a room that hadn't been cleaned at all, with dirty sheets and everything. The pool was closed for our whole trip, too. There are no public beach entrances within a ten-minute walk, and there aren't any crosswalks in front of the building. We couldn't reach the host before arriving. After that, we only got information from the travel advisor, waited two hours for a response, and longer still for the room number. There was nobody in the office, and the number provided was only for important emergencies, though we tried calling just in case. Annoying.

The villas are quiet and close to the beach, with 7-11 and Publix within walking distance. The internet was slow and the TV was still 720 resolution. Would recommend.
