Mountain View Lodges

The owners are new and asked us what we thought. When we shared a few ideas, they followed up to ask what we’d prefer. They really seem to want to do the best they can. We had such a lovely time here. The cabin was simple, but roomier and nicer than I expected from my childhood resort memories. We cooked there, and the screened porch was great. The swings were a lovely spot for sunset. In August the beach was warm for Superior, and so beautiful. We liked walking the shore and finding other little gems. My family loved our stay, and I think we’ll return.

The resort keeps light pollution low, so looking at the stars was amazing. On our second night we were treated to the Northern Lights, though of course those aren’t guaranteed. We loved the swings and the fantastic views across Lake Superior, too. Our cabin felt roomy, and the kitchen had what we needed to cook. We stayed two nights and really enjoyed it. It’s a great gateway to the Porcis, almost right at the entrance. We’ll certainly be back!

This was the only place within 109 miles that would let me stay with my box truck. The husband and wife who own it were super friendly, and even switched my room to make the truck work. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. I’ll be back, and you should too!

The cabins were comfortable and clean, and the views of Lake Superior were great. We spent a couple of nights here during our Porcupine Mountains vacation. The location was super convenient, and we’d definitely stay again.
