The one thing that helped during my stay was the front-office manager, who shared his personal hotspot so I could book an Uber at 5:30 am on the morning of the 30th. That kindness stood out against an otherwise deeply disappointing experience. The hotel is walkable from Silver Spring Metro Station, but the building feels tired and dated, with an enormous footprint and very few rooms. Most of the rooms are uncomfortably small and seem to need major renovation. It feels like the property is waiting for a full overhaul or rebuild. Room 309 had intermittent internet, and the so-called high-speed connection came and went, sometimes disappearing for long stretches. There were no complimentary bottles of water either. Basic conveniences were missing from the room: no safe, fridge, microwave, or coffee maker. The toiletries were just basic soap, which left my skin dry and irritated. The air-conditioning didn’t cool properly, and room allocation was badly managed. After asking for a non-smoking room, I had to choose between hauling luggage across stairs or accepting a smoking room. Even the USB ports didn’t work. “Breakfast included” amounted to little more than coffee and cookies. For a hotel using the Wyndham name, the overall stay was frankly unacceptable.

We arrived with our two-month-old baby and were put in a dark, smelly room that felt neither comfortable nor welcoming. The manager was also extremely disrespectful to my mom, making an already disappointing stay worse. We’re respectful, loyal customers and expected much better treatment. This hotel needs better customer service and a new manager.

The room was a mess. I requested non-smoking, but it reeked of smoke, and there were stains and wet spots on the floor. You get what you pay for, I guess.

It was affordable, the plumbing worked, and the door locked, so I can’t complain too much. Still, this was the sketchiest place I’ve stayed in a long time, with multiple holes in the wall from unfinished electrical work.

The manager’s attitude was the biggest problem. She was extremely rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful to customers. This hotel badly needs better management. She should be fired immediately.
