Prospector Motel

Michael, the mgr, was the best person we met on our whole trip. We appreciated his attention and good humor, and he even made sure I got coffee for the road at the sister convenience store/gas/motel combo down the street, which is currently the main office for the Prospector Motel. The motel itself has that old-school feeling of pulling up right outside your room, and it’s right on main street Silverton. We were there just one night and had looked at two other quaint places that were almost twice the price, both with upstairs rooms. This place has had a recent renovation. Our room had fresh paint, new carpet, a new bath and shower, plus a TV and coffee maker. I’d definitely stay again. A nightstand by the beds would be nice, though that may just be an issue with our room, and it wasn’t a deal breaker.

The clerks were super nice and dog friendly. The main office is a little way down the block, but that wasn’t an issue. The hotel sits on the main road, yet gets very quiet after dark. It’s a nice, very clean place.

Everything in the room worked and was in good order. The place was clean, the staff were friendly, and checking in down the street was no big deal. For such an economical price, I really have nothing negative to say.

The manager was so kind and easy to talk to. The place was clean and comfortable, and the whole town settled down after 9 pm. We slept well and felt rested for the next day. We loved our stay.
