The room was clean and the hotel was nice. The front desk staff were great, too. Breakfast was more of a 6 out of 10, though, since the hash browns were soggy. Housekeeping could pay closer attention to the little details. Still, I had a pretty good stay.
We keep choosing this hotel when we visit family because the staff are great. On one trip, my father lost his wallet and a staff member named soma found it. We came back recently and Maurice at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming, always smiling. We enjoyed our stay.
There was a woman named Vanessa who kindly helped us, and the little guy at the front desk was patient and friendly when I had a problem. He made sure I got help. The hotel could use a little more work, but my mother's stay was pretty good, and we'll come back.
Breakfast used to be something we looked forward to every morning, with a new waffle flavor or a different mix of hot foods. On this visit the banana waffle stayed for the first three mornings, then blueberry showed up for the last two. We missed the variety. The hash browns were still good, though a little burnt on both days they were available. Biscuits came without meat or gravy, and the English muffins I had twice seemed past their prime, though they weren't moldy or bad. The tables weren't cleaned regularly, so we had to deal with syrup each morning. The food was okay, just a step down from our earlier stays. We were there for five nights in December 2025 to see family, our third stay here. The first was in December 2024 and was among the best hotel stays I've had: a very clean room, attentive staff, and a breakfast that stood out. In July 2025 it was still pretty great. This time the room was mostly clean, with grime in some bathroom corners, though the main surfaces were clean. The stay wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The desk staff were kind but seemed less engaged. With five of us checking in, no one anticipated that we'd need bedding for the sofa bed, so we had to go downstairs for it. We were told there was only one pillow available for that bed set, and no extra towel was offered. Coming through the main doors, we didn't hear a good morning or welcome back. Those greetings aren't required, but on our first two visits the staff went out of their way in small ways, even wishing us a good breakfast, and that helped make the place special enough for us to book again. This time it felt like people were simply doing the basics. I wouldn't highly recommend the hotel now, but I wouldn't tell people to avoid it. If you get a good room rate, it's worth considering for an adequate stay. For a trip where you want a wow factor, I'd look elsewhere. The building blocks are there: a reputable brand, a great location, and a nice facility. Management should think about what kind of hotel they want to run and coach the team to show more attention to detail, enthusiasm, and accountability. A smile and proactive service cost nothing. When I first stayed, I recall the Google rating being around 4.6; it's now 4.0. Of the 14 reviews from the past month, 43% were one or two stars. The parking lot also looked less busy this time than last year. To me, that suggests a broader decline in the business, and one that could be hurting revenue and profitability. The operation seems to be at a turning point, and I hope management acts quickly to reverse the decline.
The staff were accommodating and moved us to the fourth floor to get away from the noise, but consistently loud guests weren't dealt with. A wrestling team arrived at 9:00 p.m. and was on the second floor. We didn't get a good night's sleep, and the experience left a bad taste in our mouth.
