Pack Train Inn

The owners were very friendly. The remodeled room was beautiful, with a great bed, a huge TV, nice furniture, and 10-foot ceilings. Continental breakfast was included.

We're on a two-month road trip and booked this place in February for an August stay. The room was spacious, with a view over the main street that was fun for people-watching, as long as you don't get creepy about it. We also had a small mini fridge and microwave. Think of it more as a bed and breakfast than a standard hotel. Breakfast from 7am to 8 am was a nice surprise: coffee, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, eggs, and sausage. The bed was really comfortable, and despite being on the main drag, it was very quiet. The central spot is perfect for strolling in any direction. It's hard to find. Bob sent directions before we arrived, but I still struggled to locate the front door. It's up the stairs at the back, and you need Bob to let you in. Once checked in, you'll get a code to come and go. A couple of old-school quirks: Bob wrote my credit card number on a 3x5 card, presumably for incidentals since I'd prepaid thru Hotels dot com. I'm trusting he'll shred it. There's no elevator, so pack thoughtfully.

The location is amazing, and the room is pretty nice overall. It seems like a newer inn, and the room felt like an office conversion, though it was done very well. It was hard to find, there was lots of noise from other rooms, and light came in through the glass above the door.

Everything about the place made for a great experience. Bob and Sue were warm and welcoming, and the location is central.
