They offered a fan, but it was over 70 degrees outside and the seasonal A/C still hadn’t been switched on. The next day it was 75 and expected to reach 80, with no A/C again. The staff were sympathetic and tried to help, but there wasn’t much they could do while the system was off. The bonus points were a nice gesture, though they don’t solve the lack of temperature control in the room. I’d avoid this place and pick one of the many other hotels nearby.

My wife stayed here for one night, and while the room was good and the staff friendly, someone smashed my car window. It was parked right out front in plain sight. I know the signs say the hotel isn’t responsible, and a few other cars were vandalized too, so I suspect this may have happened before. The replacement window will cost me nearly ten times the room price. I want families traveling for sports to steer clear.

At checkout, I asked about a billing detail. The desk staff checked the transaction, explained the charges clearly, and sorted it out quickly. I appreciated how straightforward and professional they were about it.

The front desk people were nice, but I wouldn’t call this a four-star hotel. Hilton downtown Evanston is much more comfortable. There’s an indoor/outdoor pool, though using the indoor side in winter is hit or miss, and there’s no jacuzzi. No bar or restaurant inside either, although it’s connected to Jameson’s, and there aren’t vending machines. The elevator and carpet feel dated. I also couldn’t get the bath faucet to work, and nobody came to help.
