Nikita at the desk made a great first impression. She checked me in warmly, walked me over to see the room when I asked, then showed me the Mexican restaurant right next door. The food there was good, and the interior was probably the nicest I’ve seen in a Mexican restaurant. It has a full bar, too. I was only there one night, but the place was impressively clean and the staff were among the friendliest I’ve encountered in this motel system. The grounds were tidy, with a freshly painted exterior and a leafy courtyard around the outdoor pool. Inside, my room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had lots of hot water and surprisingly strong pressure. A real relief after a long drive. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby, plus a Walmart, and New Orleans is about a 25-minute drive away. The location worked really well for me. I’d rate the stay 4.5 stars. I got a good room rate and would gladly pay a little more if breakfast had a few more options, like eggs, biscuits and gravy, and French Vanilla creamer. I hope management considers that. I’d happily stay here again, and recommend it.

Absolutely disgusting. I’d have left as soon as I saw the room if I hadn’t paid ahead. The mattress was old and gross, there was mold in the bathroom, and the wall cooler was just as nasty. There were spiders, which makes me think there must be insects around too. Worst room I’ve ever stayed in. :(

I’ve stayed here many times over the past year while coming to New Orleans for work most weekends. I don’t usually write reviews, but this place has earned one. For me, it’s the best motel in the greater New Orleans area, and worth the drive. The front desk staff are consistently gracious. I’m physically disabled, and they’ve accommodated my limitations in several ways when other places haven’t been so considerate. The property is quiet and feels safe, with clean, nice-smelling rooms, newer furnishings, and a well-kept pool area. I haven’t seen a bug in any room here. That’s saying something in Louisiana, where pests can get into even high-end hotels. I’ve seen giant roaches and spiders in New Orleans hotels, and my daughter and I even woke up with mystery bites twice at an upscale motel. We’ve never had that problem here. It’s just off I-10, about a five-minute walk or one-minute drive from Walmart, and close to lots of shopping plazas. There’s also a good Mexican restaurant, plus a bar and hookah lounge on the property if you’d rather stay in. The price feels better than motels charging $30-50 more. The mattress is the one thing that doesn’t work well for me. I’ve had spinal fusion, so my back is a special case, but the beds are firm rather than worn out. I bring a thin foam egg crate from Walmart with my work gear, and that’s more than made up for the price difference. I keep considering a place in town, but I come back here because it’s a good value and I know what to expect. I used to stay at Maison St Charles when I could afford it, but there were too many problems for the price. One weekend there, on my birthday, was the worst hotel experience of my life. I’d have had a better weekend here.

The desk clerk was great, and the room was clean. A couple more pillows would’ve helped. Restaurants are all nearby, and while it’s a basic hotel, it works fine for an overnight layover. Breakfast is continental. Update: despite the response, I was charged for incidentals instead of getting that amount refunded.

The rooms looked larger online than they were in person, but ours was clean and felt safe. We had a room facing the pool. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there was enough breakfast to eat, though the selection was limited. They had cereal, instant oatmeal and grits, apples, yogurt, bagels, plain cream cheese, jelly, waffles, and small Otis Spunkmeyer muffins. No eggs, despite signs saying not to put them in the microwave. Drinks included coffee, ice water, hot water for tea, milk, and apple and orange juice. The orange juice tasted watery and off. The walls are thin. We stayed Friday through Monday, and heard a baby crying for half the night and a little kid running around on Friday. Saturday evening, a couple was loudly having sex, which appalled my teenagers, followed by a woman having a long, very loud conversation about someone’s affair. Each time it seemed she was winding down, she started up again. We called the desk around 1 a.m., but it didn’t help. Sunday night was quiet. The hotel is non-smoking, though guests can smoke outside their door. There’s also a picnic table at the back for medical MJ users. Given the price and location, we’d stay again.
