Home2 Suites by Hilton Smyrna Nashville

I was here for work for about a month. The short black women who worked nights or overnight were amazing whenever I needed a last-minute extension. They were great at accommodating me. The rest of the staff were often a problem. I switched rooms about six times, despite having a car’s worth of stuff with me. I work nights and needed a late checkout on my last day while I got everything out, but they wouldn’t accommodate me. It was the same person I avoid because he never helped. Yet on other days they had no problem asking me to change rooms at 3 or 4 pm. Anyone else would say they didn’t have my room and offer to move me.

The location is near shops and restaurants, though you can’t easily walk there because the hotel is across the freeway. I arrived at 4 pm for a first-floor room I’d reserved a month earlier, and had checked in through the app at noon. I still waited until 5:30 for a room, and it wasn’t the one I booked because that one hadn’t been cleaned. The room itself was typical and clean enough, but there were stains and no shampoo in the dispenser. Ice machines worked on the first and second floors, but there was no ice in the room. Breakfast was edible, though cheap and bland, with what tasted like powdered eggs and soy meats. The pool wasn’t open over Memorial Day weekend.

The breakfast was hot and fresh, with a good choice of items, and the whole stay was just right. The hotel had a great atmosphere, the rooms were comfortable, and everything was extremely clean. The staff were amazing too. I’d recommend Home 2 and Tru to anyone staying in the area, and would come back myself.

Everything was as good as I expected. The front desk staff were kind with their recommendations. Deangelo, the young man clearing plates at breakfast, even helped my daughter with her orange juice, and Norma was stellar too. Experiences like this are why I keep choosing Hilton.
