Top of the Village

Our stay at Top of Village was going well until the last night of our family reunion. Around 3 a.m., a mouse got into a room in one of the two condos we’d booked and woke family members by crinkling at a sealed food bag. They called maintenance and were told someone would come in 10 minutes. After half an hour, no one had arrived and the mouse had scampered into a closet, so they went back to bed. They had flights later that day. Who knows where that mouse went?!

The room needs to be cleaner. For three days in a row, my husband and I were both bitten by some unknown insects. We were left with red, itchy swellings, and it seriously affected our sleep.

The TVs didn’t work, and there was no shower liner. The cold water was scalding. They wouldn’t give us washcloths until we called three times, and they kept sending people who didn’t speak English to ask what we needed. This wasn’t worth $300 a night. Food, gas, and activities nearby were incredibly expensive too. Unless you're making six figures, this trip isn’t worth it.

Really nice location, and the place was clean and functional, though the furniture was old. Check-in took forever because they couldn’t find our confirmation code in the system. Our assigned parking spot was taken too, so they told us to park somewhere farther away. The workout room was super tiny, with a couple of jacuzzis and a small heated pool.
