Our family loved being able to go straight from the chalet to the mountain. We chose it specifically for that easy ski-in/ski-out access, and there’s a dedicated locker to keep our gear secure and handy whenever we’re ready to ski. The rooms were kept very clean, too. It made for a smooth alpine stay.

We’ve been here two years running and plan to come back. The condos are comfortable and well equipped with everything except food, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The ski in/ski out location is great. There’s a free shuttle around the area, so if you fly into Aspen Airport, you can manage without renting a car.

Room 47 was huge for the price, and we had a great time. It could use a fresh coat of paint, but I still gave the place five stars for the space and location. The village is about a four-minute walk, or you can catch the free shuttle from the office. We also had a lot of fun at the pool and used the kitchen a lot. I’d recommend it.

The condo was in disrepair and not worth $9,000 a week. The bedspread was torn, the carpet dirty and fraying, and the windows were broken so they couldn’t be opened. There was a smashed cocktail glass in the middle of the drive that hit our tire, and nobody seemed to be looking after the grounds. This place feels like it’s just collecting checks. We’d booked the Hyatt well in advance and confirmed several times, even on arrival day, that we’d have three king beds. The photos we were sent showed a beautiful condo, and the reviews were good. What we got was in bad shape and didn’t have the promised beds. One room had shabby old twin beds and another had a queen. No manager was on site all week. At check-in we waited an hour and a half for resort staff to reach one, but the staff there couldn’t even look for other accommodations. Two weeks later, we still hadn’t received a call or email, and the booking agent had ignored us. The hotel’s response below is wrong and misleading. Nobody from management ever contacted us or offered another place. We waited over an hour and a half after checking in for anyone to respond. We have emails confirming the accommodation and room types, it wasn’t merely a request. The bedspread was never replaced, and the photos we received weren’t of the actual unit.

Snowmass was wonderful, with great skiing and top-notch village areas. If we return, we’ll stay somewhere else and choose a property manager other than Wyndham. We stayed in Woodrun Place unit #37, an “exceptional” unit in the highest cost tier, but the price category needs to be reconsidered. The view and ski-in/ski-out access from the porch were the two positives behind my rating. Otherwise, the decor looked straight out of the 1980s, the furnishings were old, dusty, and dirty, and the lighting was poor. The only thing that seemed “newly renovated” was the lobby furniture. Wyndham’s management was terrible. We had no TV service for the first 24 hours, and it took three calls to the front desk to get it fixed. Several bulbs were out, including all the under-counter kitchen lights, but they said they wouldn’t replace them until a “property sweep.” We had to call to ask for the promised daily housekeeping, and were told we might have to wait until the next day because they were busy. The unit has three full bathrooms, not two, but they were extremely small. The old fixtures took bulbs that current ones don’t fit, and the toilets ran constantly. The worn window seals let wind right through. We could hear noise from both the parking lot and the unit above us. The telephone message light kept blinking, and although the front desk said technical support would need to reset it, nobody ever did.
