The room was roomy, clean, and had comfortable beds. There were three bedrooms, including one with four bunks, plus a full kitchen. We also liked the TV selection, the ski and snowboard racks just inside the front door, and the picnic-table style seating with plenty of places to sit. The shuttle stop for the lifts was nearby, and the quick-mart grocery store was across the street. There are a few practical drawbacks. The unit is down a flight of stairs, so carrying things between the car and the place takes extra trips, and you have to drive to reach the village. The building feels dated, with old carpet and cabinets. The shower faucets leaked badly, and a sticking bathroom doorknob left me trapped for about three minutes while I worked it loose. We got the gate code by text at noon on check-in day, but there was no cell service. I only got into the lot because another guest was leaving. If you have trouble with the door code, save a screenshot of the Wi-Fi password before arriving at Snowshoe, since you need Wi-Fi to contact management without cell service. The baseboard heat also made the air very dry, so I’d suggest boiling water on the stove before bed. The guests upstairs were noisy, with a barking dog and kids running around until after midnight.

I felt very safe here as a female college student, and I’m already looking forward to renting it again. 202A Leatherbark was clean and came with towels and soap, while the rental company left helpful information and a checkout list. The price was affordable, and it was an easy walk to the slopes, the village bars and shops, and even a pool and hot tub. Wildcat Market is nearby too, with basics for food as well as alcohol. We had an amazing stay!

A shuttle stop is right by the place, and the accommodations were very nice.

There were loads of plates and utensils, which was a plus. But we were told it was ski-in, ski-out, and it wasn’t. The bathroom wasn’t clean, with hair in several spots, the shower handle was broken, and a fridge shelf was broken too. There was also a lot of noise from the unit upstairs, and the place felt run-down.

The units are small, but the location is good, right across from a grocery store and within walking distance of the ski slopes. It also cost less than staying at the lodge or hotel.
