Pendry Park City

The setting is lovely, and being able to ski in and out is convenient. But the nonstop music was too much. After skiing, we were tired and wanted a nap, and the heavy bass made it impossible to sleep. It felt like a Vegas hotel, and paying this much to be unable to rest comfortably didn’t feel worthwhile. For a newly built five-star hotel competing with Deer Valley, I wish they’d made the rooms soundproof.

We’re wrapping up our stay at the Pendry, and the staff made sure we were comfortable even though the weather wasn’t great for skiing. There were nice activities for guests, and the attention to detail helped make the whole visit a great one. Housekeeping deserves a special mention for freshening our room several times a day so we could return to a comfortable space. Bryson also went out of his way to drive us into town when the shuttle was full. He really was the cherry on top of an already great stay. The location, dining options, activities, and especially the staff were all fantastic. The Pendry deserves all five stars. Thank you!

The replacement room had a broken humidifier, a TV that wouldn’t cast, and pet hair on the couch that got onto our clothes. It was around 10 p.m. by then, so we didn’t bring up more problems and chose to enjoy the rest of our stay. After the oven failed in our first room and we had to move almost two hours later, it would’ve been reasonable to have the next room checked carefully first. We received a dining credit, but at nearly $3,000 per night, I expected the appliances to be checked before arrival. We also had to insist on a room of equal value instead of having that offered proactively. The trip stood out as exceptionally positive and engaging, and Garrett was courteous when helping us move rooms. Most staff were polite, though many interactions lacked the warmth and attentiveness I’d expect from a luxury property. At checkout, I said our stay had been “okay,” but no one asked what could have been better. Other things added to the disappointment. My last name was misspelled throughout the stay even after I told several staff members. On arrival, we didn’t feel especially welcomed. We said we were there for my partner’s birthday and Valentine’s Day when asked about an occasion, but there wasn’t even a card afterward. I don’t expect a gift, but asking about the occasion reasonably suggests it might be acknowledged somehow. When we asked about amenity hours, the front desk wasn’t sure and had to check, which seemed surprising given the limited amenities. We were also handed a Valentine’s Day schedule listing a scavenger hunt. Staff didn’t seem to know about it, and it never happened, though we did receive a book as a prize. That felt like another coordination problem. I understand the resort focuses on winter activities, but the experience didn’t match Pendry’s premium pricing and positioning. It should feel thoughtful and welcoming from arrival to departure. Ours didn’t, and we won’t return. I hope the feedback helps improve future stays.

The rooms were excellent and service was very good. We understood that full capacity meant no upgrades were available. Still, I wish the hotel had checked with us before putting couples next to the noisy pool party. The pool noise and the rushed feeling at breakfast brought my rating down. Otherwise, we were very happy with the room and service.
