After we were let back into the room following a shift change, another front desk staff member told us to avoid interacting with Diego. We finished the stay without another incident. That came after a deeply unsettling night during a short ski and snowboard trip with three 16-year-old boys from a New York school, whom I was chaperoning. We were there January 21-27. Late Friday night, because of the Sabbath, we asked Diego at the front desk to help turn off the room lights. He came upstairs and immediately accused us of smoking, without offering evidence or an explanation. He gave us 10 minutes to pack and leave, saying the police were being called. The accusation seemed so out of nowhere that we first thought it might be a sick joke. Then the police actually showed up. There had been no smoking of any kind. Food had been prepared in the room at one point, which could reasonably explain an unfamiliar smell that wasn’t smoke. The officers said the room itself didn’t smell of smoke. We offered to have our bags searched, but that was ignored. The officers gave us their names and a case number for the incident. We were told that if the staff member on duty required us to leave, it would be enforced. I asked Diego why he was making three minors and their chaperone leave late at night, when there were no rooms within walking distance and the Sabbath made relocating harder. It was frigid outside. Though we were bundled up, we had to take all our luggage to the lobby of a neighboring hotel just to stay warm. Diego refused to explain and walked away. We had nowhere else to go. After someone with authority acknowledged that we’d been improperly removed, we were allowed back into our room after the shift change. There was no manager available during the eviction, no number to call, and no accountability afterward. At checkout, someone took a video of the room. It was in normal end-of-stay condition for a group of teenagers, with some clutter and towels on the floor, but nothing damaged or ruined. It could have been cleaned quickly with a garbage bag. Even after all that, we only got a partial refund for one night, excluding taxes, and were also charged a $500 smoking fee. I explained the situation fully to the manager, Luke, but nothing materially changed. He said he fully backed his staff and told us to “get off the property as quickly as possible.” There was no chance to appeal or meaningfully resolve it. At no point was there a real investigation, evidence presented, or concern for the minors’ safety. Families, groups, or anyone who expects basic fairness should think carefully before staying here.

The room was clean and had all the kitchen items we needed. We stayed with our kids, ages 5 and 7, and although we wondered whether the small room would work, it was just right. They liked the bunk beds, and putting the Murphy bed up and down each day was less of a hassle than I expected. The walk up the stairs to ski school and the chair lift was short and easy, even in ski boots. Nice spot for skiing. We’d stay again.

Eric at the front desk made us feel well looked after from check-in to departure. He was friendly, outgoing, attentive, and knew his stuff. The hotel was in great shape and worked perfectly for my vacation. The rooms are small, as we knew before booking, but the design makes good use of the space. The Murphy bed folds down at night and tucks into a wall cabinet when it’s not in use. The coffee table lowers so the bed can unfold over it, freeing up floor space. Cabinets run across the whole wall, with plenty of room for clothes, shoes, and personal things. The kitchenette was quite suitable, and the three-quarter-size refrigerator let us save some money by eating in. The bathroom was nice too, with a full-size shower and a heated towel rack that made getting out much more comfortable. The location is prime, just steps from the Red Pine gondola. I travel a lot and this place didn’t disappoint. Five stars, and I’ll definitely go back.

Our room smelled like cigarette smoke when we checked in for the July 3-5 weekend, but staff moved us to another room, which was great. On checkout day, the cleaning ladies came in before 11am while we were still there. While I was taking things to my car, they went through my personal belongings and threw away a lot of groceries. I’d saved the groceries for last because I didn’t have a cooler for them. After I’d officially checked out, they charged my card $45 because they couldn’t find a bottle of lotion. There wasn’t any lotion in the room to begin with. I called to find out what happened and spoke with a cleaning lady named Lauren, who wouldn’t give me the general manager’s information. After about 10 minutes of back and forth, someone else stepped in and told her to transfer me to the general manager’s voicemail. I left a message and hoped they’d call to sort it out. I’m extremely upset this happened and wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and having an onsite washer and dryer was incredibly useful. The room was a little small but did the job for our ski trip. The wall-hinged bunk bed had a slight incline, so it could’ve been more comfortable.
