The staff really saved the experience. Luis upgraded us to a better suite because of an issue with the outside soaking tub in the room we'd booked, and they even left champagne in our room. The rooms were quite pretty, and the courtyard is stunning. Still, the tubs in the better rooms take a very, very long time to fill, and since they're outside, they were dirty. The hotel was also hard to find and navigate. It was raining, and we wandered around in the dark trying to figure out where the office was. We'd planned a romantic wedding night, and it was an OK to good experience that would've been not so great without the wonderful staff. A good find if you're staying a few days.

We left wishing we'd had more time here. It feels tucked away from highway noise, with Solvang a little over a mile away and Los Olivos 4 miles away. The hotel's look has an Italian hideaway feel, and the rooms are thoughtfully set up with a sit down, stay a while vibe. Luis greeted us like an old friend, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. An ideal spot for a retreat for two or a group, and a must-stay for a weekend getaway!

The staff are a little untrained, but kind. The vibe is great, with lots of fire pits and a clever “Motel California “ motif. It'd be perfect on a warm early summer evening, and bring your dog.

Hotel Ynez has become our go to place. We've stayed multiple times over the last couple of years, and each visit has been excellent. The individual “casitas” give you privacy, outdoor sitting areas, and a hammock. The grounds are lovely, with fire pits, seating areas, and a small swimming pool. The rooms are clean, spacious, and very comfortable, and the staff are professional and friendly. Perfect for a weekend of wine tasting in the area, and for bringing a dog.

Both times I've stayed at Hotel Ynez have felt magical, and I hope to return. Everything, from the design choices to the service, feels carefully put together and intentional.
