New Haven Inn

We went the week before Christmas and had a really quiet stay. Our room had its own porch with a firepit table, and it had been redone in a tasteful way. The place is off Main St., so you’ll need to be okay with walking, but it was absolutely wonderful. The woman at the front desk was very nice.

A charming old-style hotel, very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed in the room. It’s quiet but still close enough to walk to the commercial area for food and shopping. The staff were helpful and very nice, and it felt like good value. Parking is a bit tight, but it’s free and off-street, so I can’t really complain.

Tammy in the office was amazingly sweet and helped us sort out check-in issues and extra accommodations. It was our first visit to New Haven Inn, and I really enjoyed the stay. We had room 5, a spacious two-story room with a king upstairs, plus a queen and sofa bed downstairs. My husband, our four kids, and I all slept comfortably. The elegant design had French decor vibes, and we liked the balcony and downstairs patio seating. It’s at the end of Alisal but still walkable to the main attractions. Since it faces the street, we heard some traffic noise, though it wasn’t too bad.

We always enjoy staying at the New Haven Inn when we visit Solvang. The location is great, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff are friendly and helpful. This time we were in #6. My wife missed having a standing mirror, and I think the sofa may need replacing, just my opinion. Lilly and the other woman in the office are very sweet, and they gave my wife a lovely surprise.
