The Aventis Inn

I’ve been coming to Ocean City every year, but this was my first stay here. The hotel has been completely renovated, and I honestly didn’t expect it to be this clean. I had no idea there was such a nice hotel here. Highly impressed!

The pool is always super clean, and the location just across the bridge from ocean city works great for us. We’ve been coming with the family for four years, and the customer service and quality have been great. Last season we left our daughter’s old ipad behind, and they had it waiting for us when we came back. Thanks for another great summer, from my family.

We booked this room for a wedding, and if we hadn’t been pressed for time, I would have demanded a refund and found somewhere else. The sign said “new rooms,” but ours was nowhere near that. In the first room, mold was immediately noticeable, and I found it around the windows and on the curtains when I checked before bringing in our things. Dust on the lampshades and behind the TV looked like months’ worth, not just overnight. There were cigarette burns in the bedspread and chairs. We asked for our money back and were offered another room instead. The second room smelled clean at first, but the dust was unbelievable, and there were hundreds of bugs in the light fixture. One wall had some kind of brown spray on it, and I found used tissues in my husband’s nightstand. The laminate floor was broken and soft. At least the bathroom was the cleanest part. By morning, even with the AC blasting, the whole room felt damp, so we got up and left very early because we couldn’t take it. Half the TV channels on the provided list weren’t available, either. This was definitely not worth what we paid.

The sheets, pillowcases, and towels were clean, but the room itself was really dated and smelled of stale cigarettes. The comforter was paper thin and had stains and burn marks, so I took it off straight away. I wiped down the surfaces with bleach cloths and sprayed Febreze to deal with the odd smell. I only stayed overnight because of a tournament the next morning, and everything else was booked, so this was my last resort. There were a lot of shady people around, and it seemed like a few lived there. Location was the only redeeming thing. I wouldn’t stay again.
