Americas Best Value Inn Somerville

The rooms and hotel felt a bit dated, but everything was clean and comfortable. The food selection was limited, though what was available tasted good and worked for us. The staff were absolutely wonderful. My family and I were very happy here and would definitely stay again.

We found more blood on the bed in the morning, on a pillow and another sheet, after the front desk had replaced the one sheet we first noticed the night before. The nice woman there figured it was probably just a stained sheet and threw it out. I’m guessing housekeeping had left the previous guest’s bedding on and simply remade the bed. Earlier, the only other problem had been a broken light switch. 🤢

Breakfast came with the room, which was a nice extra, though the selection was small. I booked pretty late for one night for two people, with a king bed, and paid $70 total. The bedding clearly hadn’t been washed: there were crumbs in the bed and a gross mark on the top sheet.

I was working at the tower next door and badly needed a bathroom. The front desk was empty, and after waiting and pacing for a few minutes, I used the lobby restroom. A man dressed very casually confronted me when I came out, threatened to have me banned, then harassed me all the way out. I told him to call the police if he thought that was appropriate, and said I’d wait, but he wouldn’t. Extremely rude staff.
