The room had a private jetted hot tub, and I had a great stay. The hotel was clean and well maintained. I spent a while by the pool, which was cold, though not as bad as it could've been. Maybe because the weather was hot, the water felt somewhat warm once I put my head under. Breakfast was good, with eggs, sausage, and muffins, and the coffee was delicious. The staff were great. I booked one night and stayed for two. Highly recommend.

Right on Sonora's main street, the hotel has food options and gas stations close by. The staff were polite and helpful, though fairly professional in manner. The property feels rustic, with motel-style layout, old-fashioned doors, and decor. If you're on the ground floor, you can park right outside your room. Our room felt a bit tight for four people, and there was just one outlet by the beds. I had a multi-plug adapter, so we managed to charge our devices, but without one it could be a challenge. Breakfast was at the neighboring hotel, under the same management and with a similar feel. It was an average breakfast, just as expected, with nothing missing and nothing extra.

Downtown Sonora is a great location for this hotel, just a five-minute walk along the sidewalk to restaurants and shops. The women on staff were always nice and helpful. The rooms, though, feel priced cheaply for a reason. My room was caked in dust, with a damp, musty smell, and it hasn't been renovated since '04. The AC units were black and moldy. Don't turn one above 65 unless you want the room filled with a smell like 1000 dead critters. There were people around who made the place feel sketchy. From my car I watched a man try the doors on all the hotel rooms. We were also told the hotel gives room vouchers to homeless people, which is fantastic. Still, I didn't feel safe sleeping there. About 10 of us were there on a work trip. After our experiences, we decided it wasn't clean or safe and moved to the best western. Personally, I wouldn't book any hotel in downtown Sonora. If you're staying in the area, best Western is your best bet.

The staff were the best part of my two-week work stay. They were very helpful and courteous, and dealt with any problems quickly. The hotel is older, but it's in a great spot and all of downtown is a short walk away. A laundromat would be really useful for longer stays, though you can't have everything.

The location worked perfectly for getting around downtown on foot or taking day trips nearby. I was pleasantly surprised since my expectations were low. Check-in was friendly, and the newly remodeled lobby had fresh water and coffee. My room was on the third floor with two double beds. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom looked newly refreshed. The AC took a little while to start working, but maintenance checked it quickly and made sure it was running properly. Breakfast was nice, the front desk staff were consistently pleasant, and they gave me an extra hour to check out. A great property for a weekend in Sonora.
