Aloft South Bend

I stayed one work night before flying out the next day and booked the 1 King Bed, Corner, Ultra Savvy Suite. The downtown location was convenient for restaurants and the airport, and the garage inside the hotel happened to be free that night. Its elevators went straight to the guest floors, which made parking easy. The room was spacious, clean, modern, and had a decent view. Temperature control worked fine, though there was only a small fridge and no microwave. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the bathroom had a large counter and okay lighting, and the shower got hot with good pressure. The TVs had Netflix. The gym was a decent hotel size with cardio machines and free weights. Breakfast wasn’t included, and I didn’t try the small kitchen. I didn’t use the pool either.

The location and lobby bar area were great, but the night in room 1704 was rough. We arrived late after basketball games, dinner, and drinks at the wxyz bar. The room felt hot and stuffy, and changing the thermostat did nothing. When I called the front desk, the woman said it would take 30 minutes to turn on, which seemed crazy. We could hear the elevators all night, making it hard to fall asleep. I changed my rating to one star because we left two pillows behind. The hotel found them, which was good, and I paid $35 to have them shipped home. But the tracking has said they’re waiting to receive the package for two weeks now. We stayed March 21st.

The pool was cold, which was the one downside. I stayed at Aloft South Bend for a full week, and the housekeeping and cleaning staff did a great job. The whole building was clean, the kitchen staff were efficient, and the staff were kind and provided excellent service. Aloft South Bend is a beautiful place.

We’ve enjoyed working at Aloft South Bend with our DJ, photography, videography, coordination, and photo booth services. The hotel and event space together make things convenient for wedding parties and guests coming from out of town, and the layout helps the celebration flow smoothly. The ballroom’s big windows look out over the South Bend skyline, bringing in light and giving ceremonies and receptions a modern setting that couples often enjoy for photos and the guest experience. For couples planning a stylish downtown wedding with city views, Aloft is a great option.
