The breakfast was hot and pretty good, with eggs, sausage, pancakes, and other options. The woman running that area was great. Staff overall were helpful, the lobby looked very nice, and the bathroom was fine. My bed was comfortable, I didn’t find bedbugs around its edges or seams, and after the upstairs floor stopped squeaking, I slept well. Still, I’m split on this hotel. The rooms felt tired, and I don’t think it’s worth $89 a night. The lobby gives a much better impression than the rest of the place, as if that’s where all the money went. My first room hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. Their key cards were on the TV stand and the bedding was piled on a chair. The front desk woman promptly moved me to another room, which was clean, though I could smell that someone had smoked in it recently. I’m allergic to nicotine, so I noticed it, but it wasn’t too bad. A metal picture frame had rust on top, and there were workers’ hand dirt marks around a wallpaper patch by the window. At 6 a.m. I heard construction workers who were staying there leave, and a large dog barked constantly for over an hour while I was there. Management did nothing about it.

The lobby is a nice spot, with a fireplace and ND tile floor, and the location works well for trips to ND. Unfortunately, the pool was being worked on during our visit, and we hadn’t been told before booking. I later found out the notice was on the website, but for some reason that pop-up never appeared on my phone.

We stayed five nights for graduation. The service was good, and our room was clean. Breakfast was easy to get, and coffee was available more or less all the time.

I drove nine hours from Baltimore, MD, after attending a dear friend’s funeral, so I was exhausted when I got to Larkspur Landing. The front desk woman first put me in a room next to an elevator. I explained that I have trouble sleeping and asked to move, and she was extremely kind about finding me a much quieter room for the night. Little gestures like that matter a lot and made a real impression on me. I wish I could remember her name. Thank you to the night staff at Larkspur Landing!

For one night during a Notre Dame game, we paid over $2,000 for two standard rooms, at more than triple the usual rate. The price felt outrageous for rooms that weren’t remotely worth it. They were dated and not very clean, and the back hotel door didn’t lock properly, which left the place feeling unsafe. For that cost, I expected clean, secure, comfortable rooms. Instead it felt like a run-down budget hotel cashing in on game weekend. I’ve booked hotels for plenty of events and understand rates go up on busy weekends, but this increase was extreme and completely unjustified by the quality. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. I also just read that they had bed bugs recently.
