The room was dated, though clean and comfortable, and the elevator signs in the guest hallways could be easier to follow. They’re renovating right now, which made check-in and breakfast areas feel cramped. Still, it’s a nice place with great access to the N.D. campus. When the work is done, I’d give it another look.

The room smelled musty, maybe moldy, the outlets beside the bed didn't work, and our key cards quit on the second day. What really bothered us started at check-in: we had booked online after seeing the hotel listed as pet friendly, then after paying a nonrefundable rate, the receptionist told us pets came with a $75 fee. The site said fees may apply, but we were told every guest with a pet has to pay it. Extra costs should have been clear before arrival. It felt sneaky and shady, and the place wasn't worth the money. A 0/10, never coming back. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Hilton next door.

The front desk employee and general manager were completely unprofessional. The GM couldn't problem solve or interact with customers, and seemed to think it was acceptable for employees to swear at guests. Staff weren't held accountable for their behavior. On top of that, construction had the whole place closed off, and workers yelled at the kids whenever they tried to go somewhere. Horrible experience.

We had a great weekend stay in Southbend for a football game. The hotel was very clean and nice. Friday night they welcomed us with champagne and pulled pork and chicken BBQ sliders, and on Saturday there was an omelet bar along with the complimentary breakfast.

We got in close to midnight after a very late arrival at SBN Airport, just passing through on our way farther south. The front desk welcomed us and got us settled fast. The room and facility were comfortable and well appointed, though a little dated. I was glad to hear renovation plans are underway, and think it’ll be wonderful when finished. Breakfast was varied, tasty, and filling. A very nice, if short, stay.
