Embassy Suites by Hilton South Jordan Salt Lake City

Lucinda made fresh, made-to-order omelettes with her special homemade salsa, and they were delicious. Breakfast was amazing. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the beds were comfortable. Great job!

A major medical conference made finding another hotel nearly impossible, so when the Director of Sales said they’d move my booking to a nearby Holiday Inn with comparable quality and amenities, I had little choice but to accept. This was for an important work trip, and I was told only a few days before arrival that Embassy Suites South Jordan SLC had overbooked and canceled my reservation. The replacement turned into a much worse problem. Soon after checking into the Holiday Inn Hilton had booked, I found bedbugs. I had to throw out more than $700 worth of belongings, then scramble to find another room at over $500 a night. I contacted Hilton about canceling my reservation and sending me to an unsafe alternative. They took no responsibility. Guest Services said there was nothing they could do. There was no compensation, Hilton Honors points, meaningful apology, or accountability. The whole thing caused serious financial loss and emotional distress, and the lack of care or resolution was incredibly disheartening. I’m deeply disappointed with this hotel and the Hilton brand, and won’t book at either again.

The location was great, and we barely heard other rooms or the freeway. A train did pass during the day, which my 11-month-old loved watching through the big windows. The pool was warm and fun for the kids and me, and the clean, spacious rooms gave us all room to breathe. I usually find family trips stressful, so it was nice that everyone enjoyed the room. I just wish it had a bathtub instead of a shower, though we made it work. Breakfast staff were especially wonderful, and the other staff were kind and smiling. The front desk woman, though, seemed annoyed when I asked where to park at 9 p.m. on Friday, since there were no open spaces. I also lost a star over the $10 daily parking fee. It was mentioned while I was walking to check in, but wasn’t made clear elsewhere. I understand now it’s standard for Embassy Suites in the area. We’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast really stood out, especially the made-to-order omelets. Try La Cinda’s freshly made salsa with them. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and roomy. This hotel is a notch above!
