Days Inn by Wyndham South Lake Tahoe

Getting around was easy from here, with Lake Tahoe harbor, El Dorado beach, Safeway, and Heavenly village all just minutes away. The rooms were roomy and clean, and had a mini fridge, coffee maker, and cable TV. I'd recommend it.

Traffic from the road disturbed our sleep since our room was on that side, so light sleepers may want to keep that in mind. It wasn't enough to spoil the stay, though. The place felt comfortable and welcoming, and check-in was quick and painless after our long drive. The location made everything easy. Shops at the marketplace were close for errands, and we could walk to the beach for lake outings. We'd consider coming back, maybe asking for a room farther from the road.

The room had a bad smell, and when I went to sleep I could smell the sweat of whoever had stayed there the night before, or nights before. I think it needs to be cleaned better.

We found the place affordable, and I’d choose it over Harvey’s. It’s pet friendly, with spacious parking, and right across the street from Heidi’s breakfast diner and CVS. The guy at the front desk was friendly and efficient. The suite was nice, with a small kitchenette and a table, and both rooms we booked had a fridge and microwave. The heaters worked, though the rooms were already warm so we barely used them. The rooms could use some repairs and upgrades. There are no room phones, but our cell service was good, so that wasn’t a problem for us. Housekeeping could be better: there were drinks left in the fridge and a few stains on the sheets. Still, I’d stay here again.
