The TV barely worked, which was almost the least of it. The room stayed around 81-83 degrees, and the wall thermostat was just a display with useless buttons. Opening the window was the only way to get air, but it did nothing to cool things down and made the noise from the restaurant next door louder. We had to open the blinds too, so streetlights shone straight into the room while we tried to sleep with earplugs and a mask. My wife booked this place on our drive to South Lake Tahoe for one night. We've traveled plenty and dealt with bugs and mosquitoes in other countries, so we didn't expect a short stay to surprise us. By the first half of the night, though, we knew we'd made a mistake. I checked the reviews and saw that the heat problem had apparently gone on for years. Read them before booking and stay far away. The owner keeps promising in replies to negative reviews that the problem will be fixed. I think they should lose their license. This felt much more like a torture chamber than a hotel.
The general manager made the stay especially nice, giving us helpful directions for food and public transportation. Our room was clean, and we felt safe on the property. The beach and casino were both within walking distance. From the moment we arrived in the lobby until checkout, everything went really well. Thanks to the general manager for making it such a wonderful stay. Corey & Sophia
The room was 80 degrees, and there was no air conditioning. They had a fan, but the office asked me to come downstairs to pick it up. Opening the window might have helped, except raising the blinds let in so much light from the overhead fixture outside the door that I couldn't use that option. There also wasn't any way to plug the tub, so taking a bath wasn't possible.
At $400 a night, this room was ridiculously expensive given the problems. It was cooler outside than in our room, where none of the air conditioners worked and we were left with a standing fan in 99-degree heat. The advertised pool has been closed since Covid, and the Wi-Fi didn't work even though we were given a code. We kept trying the front desk, but the line was busy. The bathroom fan didn't work, and the showerhead was so low that even I, at 5'4", had to duck. Several outlets were dead, so we kept moving the fan and microwave around to find ones that worked. When we came back from the concert down the street, the room with the ice machine was locked.
The best part was the location, with Hozier playing just a block away. Our bathroom window faced his show, so we got a concert from the room. There were only five other cars in the lot, which made it clear why the place still had rooms available that night. For $320 on a summer Saturday, we expected more. The bathroom window wouldn't close, there was no air conditioning, the free Vizio TV was there, and the pool was closed. We did get a discount voucher for Lakeside Beach, but no one was in the office when we checked out, so we left the key with a housekeeper we eventually found.
