Best Western Plus Grosvenor Airport Hotel

I was stuck overnight and was glad I picked this hotel. It was just what I expected from a generic place a little above budget, so I gave it five stars. The room was clean and fine, and both the late-night clerk and the morning clerk were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The shuttle was on time. Breakfast was good too, with espresso, fresh eggs, waffles, cereal, hash browns, sausage, and store-bought pastries.

We’ve spent the last two weeks at Best Western, and it has been an amazing experience. After our home burned down on November 11, we had to evacuate and live in hotels from November 11 to December 17. This was the third hotel we tried, following two terrible stays, especially at Travelodge Airport. Best Western made my family and me feel at home, and you won’t regret staying here. I especially want to thank Ariel at the front desk. She’s wonderful, kind, and helpful. Her compassionate, humane approach, along with her colleagues’ care, gave us a sense of peace during a very difficult time. Thank you, Ariel, and thank you, Best Western!

Breakfast was the worst kind of “American standard” to me: oily scrambled eggs and a waffle maker, with not a vegetable in sight. There was an appalling amount of waste too. Everything was single-use and went into a huge trash can, with no recycling or sorting. Everyone smiles, but maybe they just don’t realize guests may expect more. The hotel itself is old and ugly, and badly needs a full renovation. My room felt dingy, and the bathtub had a serious drainage problem. I’m shocked that infrastructure in the world’s leading economy can feel so “third world.”

The employees were very helpful and accommodating. Our room was okay and reasonably clean, with a small refrigerator, safe, and coffee pod machine, though there was no microwave. We had the included breakfast at the on-site restaurant. It was reasonably good, and the guys loved the waffles. We didn’t try dinner, so I can’t say how that is.
