Holiday Inn Express Cheektowaga North East by IHG

Everything else was good, the rooms were clean, and the other staff were very nice. But I had to leave early at 6am on the 18th, although my stay was booked for December 16 to 19, because I got food poisoning after eating pancakes from the machine. At checkout I told the front desk lady I’d had severe diarrhea all night and that pancakes were the only hotel food I’d eaten. I don’t think the machine had been cleaned properly. She said her son had eaten the pancakes and nothing happened to him, and didn’t apologize at all.

Three nights here was enough. The heater kept switching itself off, the elevator got stuck, and our door keys stopped working. The sidewalks hadn’t been shoveled, and the hallways smelled. In the room there was only one towel, no chair despite a huge empty space for one, and the front desk lady was rude and yelled when we asked for another. The walls are so thin you can hear a neighbor snore, and every footstep from the loud hockey families above us. Breakfast was microwaved crap. I don’t get how this “hotel” has 3.9 stars. It’s absolutely awful, and at $120 a night it isn’t worth it. More like $50.

We really liked the large breakfast seating area, which we also used for games at night, and the breakfast itself was delicious with something different each day. The pool was a good size for our young hockey team, and the fitness room was nice. Great spot for our tournament and one of our favorite hotels so far. I took off a star because the room wouldn’t cool down much, so we bought a fan at Target across the street. The beds were very firm. I found them uncomfortable, though others liked them.

The staff were friendly and efficient, and check-in was smooth. Holiday Inn Express Cheektowaga North East, an IHG Hotel, was clean and comfortable, with modern rooms and useful amenities. Breakfast and the other facilities add value. It’s a reliable, convenient choice for travelers who want a comfortable, hassle-free stay.
